Şirin Köprücü

Şirin Köprücü is the founder of StrategicStraits, Inc. and an international business trainer/consultant with over 15 years of work experience who specializes in helping internationally growing organizations enter new markets in fast, efficient and lasting ways.

With expert business partners, Şirin helps organizations build their “innovation and growth system” supported by their unique value proposition, the optimum business model for their global as well as local operations, brand story, content strategy and organizational learning mechanisms. Şirin is also a certified Global Mindset® facilitator with the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a contributor to “Developing Your Global Mindset – The Handbook for Successful Global Leaders”, the first practical handbook for developing a global mindset published by Thunderbird School in 2013. Her ability to understand strategy in global context and her deep curiosity for the circumstances of each organization enables her clients to think and act with the necessary resources to succeed globally as well as locally. She thrives working with entrepreneurs, helping them innovate and realize their dreams. In her workshops and coaching sessions Şirin is able to enrich the learning experience of the global entrepreneur and leader through her extensive first- hand experience in international business as a marketer and trainer in the pharmaceutical and health communications industries. Şirin also facilitates online courses on leadership, professional development management, principles of marketing and membership management for association executives at ASAE University, and global negotiations, conflict management and strategic marketing courses at Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Şirin Köprücü holds an MBA Degree with specialization in marketing from Eastern Michigan University and an undergraduate degree in business from Istanbul University. Şirin has served as an international section council member at the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and as a judge in the annual George Washington University School of Business Intramural MBA Case Competition. Currently, Şirin is a consultant member at the ASAE and serves on the board and as the chair of the Innovation and Growth Committee at the American Turkish Council (ATC).

Şirin lives and works in Washington, DC. Prior to coming to the United States, she lived and worked in Turkey, the UK, Switzerland and Germany, and speaks Turkish, English and German fluently. Şirin has more than 30 years of experience in communicating with people from different country origins and pursuing different personal and professional adventures around the world.  In an effort to celebrate and connect cultures around the world, Şirin has helped start and currently leads the Global Friends volunteer corps of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
